I had high expectations for The Belsfield Hotel, especially given its stunning location overlooking Lake Windermere. While the views were amazing, my overall experience was marred by a series of disappointments, particularly with dining options. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, but the lack of attention to detail made my stay less enjoyable than anticipated.
Rooms

My room was elegant and very clean, although some aspects felt a bit dated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.
Service
6.0
The staff were attentive and friendly, especially at check-in, which set a positive tone for my stay. However, there were moments where service felt a bit rushed.
Location

The hotel's location is excellent, just a short stroll to the village center, making access to local attractions very convenient. Plus, the views of the lake from the hotel grounds are absolutely stunning.
Dining

Unfortunately, dining was quite disappointing. I found the breakfast options limited and some items were lacking in quality. The presentation was nice, but taste didn't measure up to my expectations.

My stay at The Belsfield Hotel was a mix of ups and downs. While the stunning views of Lake Windermere were absolutely amazing and the staff were really friendly and helpful, there were some major letdowns with the hotel’s condition and service consistency. I found the dining experience a bit off, and the room could definitely use some TLC. Overall, it wasn’t the relaxing getaway I hoped for.
Rooms
6.0
My room was small but elegantly decorated. It was on the first floor, and while it had a comfy feel, I noticed it could use a good refresh. There were cobwebs in the corners, which definitely didn’t give off a luxury vibe.
Service
5.0
The staff were generally polite and attended to my needs, especially my mother, which was nice. However, I found some of them uninspired or not fully trained, and it took forever to get served during meals. That part was frustrating.
Location
8.0
The location of the hotel was excellent, with amazing views over the lake. Being able to step out and enjoy the scenery was a highlight. However, my actual view from the room was disappointing, overlooking a chimney structure instead of the gardens I was hoping for.
Dining
5.0
I was excited for the meals, but they were a bit of a letdown. The breakfast selection had some good items, but the cooked food seemed reheated and dry. Dinner was decent but lacked variety and wasn't as fresh as I expected.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities could use improvements. Parking was a nightmare due to events going on, and some areas felt overcrowded and stressful. The lounges I wanted to relax in weren't accessible because of private events, which was a bummer.

I had a lovely stay at The Belsfield Hotel with its stunning views of Lake Windermere. The friendly and attentive staff truly enhanced my experience, making me feel welcome from check-in. The room was elegant and comfortable; however, the temperature was a bit too warm for my liking, even with a fan available. Overall, the beautiful setting and high-quality breakfast made my stay enjoyable. 🌅😊

I had mixed feelings about my stay at The Belsfield Hotel. The stunning views of Lake Windermere were a highlight, making the surroundings truly beautiful. but the overall dining experience really let the hotel down. While my room was elegant and comfortable, there were a few cleanliness issues that were disappointing. I appreciated the attentive staff, yet some service aspects could definitely be improved.

The room looked great with beautiful decor, but I noticed some cleanliness issues. like a urine stain under the toilet seat and some hairs in the bath.
Service

While many staff were friendly, the service at breakfast was chaotic and all over the place. I felt the staff struggled to deliver a smooth experience, especially during busy times, like when I had to wait long for my fried egg.

The location was excellent, just a short walk down to the center of Bowness and right by the gorgeous lake. perfect for exploring the area.

Unfortunately, the dining left a lot to be desired. Breakfast was chaotic, and the food was often cold. Dinner was better, especially the lamb, but the slow service detracted from the overall experience.

The hotel had appealing common areas and offered good amenities, yet during my stay, the coffee machine was out of order for two mornings, which was frustrating.

My stay at The Belsfield Hotel was truly wonderful, highlighted by the stunning views of Lake Windermere and the professional, friendly staff. The room was elegantly furnished, spotlessly clean, and the location was perfect for exploring. However, I did encounter some minor issues with the breakfast service, as it was quite slow on one occasion, which detracted slightly from the experience.
